Thanks , I've just been looking for info approximately this subject for ages and yours is the best I've found out so far. However, what about the conclusion? Are you certain about the source?|What i do not realize is actually how you are no longer really a lot more smartly-favored than you might be right now. You are so intelligent.
You miss the potential of this whole episode. Look at what the science behind his doping allowed a cancer survivor to do. If this had been an everday guy, few would have noticed and nothing would be done or advanced because it would be too hard to believe. I bet in 10 years or less, the very things used to make him (and others) so able will become regular treatment for cancer survivors to help gain their lives back. It sure beats radiation and chemotherapy drugs currently used. What better stage to research than the most grueling human endurance race on the planet. So truly, Lance may have unwittingly been the most famous guinea pig in history. On the flip side, if all of his methods turn out to be unsafe, well you can imagine the coming consequences for him that no jury or judgement could ever equal. Sounds like a win win to me. Lets hope that the medical field has a brain and pays attention for the greater good.
I've been in the pharmaceutical industry for 26 years and that's one of the dumbest comments ever. Congrats, you get the prize. Perhaps LSD and Meth will soon be of benefit and helpful to some that are ill. Therefore, we should make illegal, experimental products legal. Maybe you could make the call which are ok and which are not. Please, give us a break.....
So what your saying is that the pharmaceutical industry has never used a questionable drug/ingredient/method in their efforts to create the next billion dollar profit product and inadvertently ruined someone's life during the research or trial phase? No one has ever been harmed in a clinical trial for a new drug, is that accurate? And it is wrong that a millionaire meglomaniac athlete take risks himself and something good could not possibly come out of that? Oh and if it does go south, the meglomaniac athlete suffers himself for his own actions and choices and still can become a positive educational tool (see what happened kids, this is why you don't do that...). Interesting. If you actually understood my comment, it has nothing to do with him being a liar and a cheat or what is legal or not, but of what we might learn from such an apparently wildly successful combination of treatments. One hell of a recovery from cancer in my book. And regarding illegal, I have not seen any comments or charges on Lance being brought up on trafficking or use of illegal drugs, just performance enhancing methods, so your comment of meth or LSD or any other illegal drug would appear to be invalid. So, again, if the medical field pays attention, they will learn something. If it is positive or not, only more time will tell. Thanks for my prize.
ok, you win, yea, illegal drugs are ok for athletes since they're for "experimental purposes". Sure, rational and justified.... we get it, you're correct.... We give, you win.
Why did it take over 200 tests to finally get Lance???? If what he took was so bad then they should have caught it long ago and during the first few tests. Sounds like a witch hunt to me. Lance won 7 and move on people.
If he's guilty, he's guilty, period. And, he is. He lied, period....... He's a liar and a fraud, period. It is what it is. You can try to put a pig in a tux but it's still a pig & dirty, period.
That used to be my thought until people like George Hincapie and Tyler Hamilton confessed. The simple fact is that the Postal team were experts at managing their doping program prevented any conclusive positive tests from showing up. The team had very close ties to Dr. Ferrari and somehow managed to be kept out of his fall. He taught Postal so much about testing and detection thresholds that they went unscathed for years.
you are an unparalleled idiot
Vampire Lance Must Not Rise Again
Agreed, he's like an old Christmas turkey- beyond done.
Lance wants to come clean so he can compete in triathlons etc. This is not to clear his conscience or anything so noble. He will never repair the damage he, Johan Bruyneel, Tyler Hamilton, Floyd Landis and many other professional riders have done to pro cycling. I used to watch the Tour and other cycling competitions avidly. I haven't been able to watch an entire stage for about 4 years because it's not real sport anymore.
Actually, I'm off all pro sports these days. The team owners only want to make money and couldn't care less if their players dope, as long as they don't get caught. It's scary that most Americans care more about their sports idols cheating than their politicians lying and cheating repeatedly. I'd be off politics as well but I suffer consequences if I don't pay attention to the mess that exists in today's political arena. makdjalali makes a valid point; all of us have strong opinions on athletes cheating and live with Washington BS as a matter of course..
Spare me the insincere whine about being lied to. Only the most naive thought that cycling in the 90s was clean. If you didn't it's because you didn't pay attention. Lance doped because Lance had to dope to be at the elite level. He didn't invent or create the system he was just good at it. If you crucify Armstrong then crucify all that came before him that includes LeMond.
ok, all that were guilty, that's good....
Lance is more mentally ill than anything else. I cannot feel sorry for him because his actions were so EXTREMELY TOXIC. He is better served by bowing his head in disgrace and walking away quietly ashamed. Man, he TOTALLY RUINED the color yellow.
Agreed, there is something really wrong mentally there... I saw some of his interviews about his denials, he give the term " narcissist " a whole new meaning.... unreal there.
Armstrong lied and disgraced athletes worldwide. He harmed cycling especially. He did it all for greed, for self gratification, for fame and then went down in flames. He's an arrogant, disgusting disgrace and should go into hiding somewhere. He hugely disgraced the charitable foundation and has been shoved out of that by the board (thank God). Go away, we're tired of your lies..... spend your money in the Arctic somewhere, go now Lance.
Armstrong tarnished the great Armstrong name and just for that, he needs to shut up and spend his money in a hidden fortress 100 feet below ground.
As for politicians lying and all those other bastards, here's the deal: you let your own president bring you to war over a huge lie that the ENTIRE world was intelligent enough to see. A war that killed hundreds of thousands of innocent people, including thousands of children (5,000 were dying per month in Irak during the disgusting US-led embargo). A war where you only counted your dead soldiers, while 1000 times more were dying, civils mainly, on the other front.
America, here, with Armstrong, is just showing once more how stupid it can be. How naive, innocent, young, juvenile. Well, I guess you can't possibly expect more from a nation that's 300 years old. Empires have ruled the world for thousands of years, and here are you are thinking that with your eroded values, your massive corruption (Enron and so many others that followed), you love for war and destruction, your atheletes humiliating your entire country, your blatant racism (you imprison so unjustly black people that in some areas women can't find a mate), your undeterred support for fascist Israhell who's been killing innocents in Palestine and ignoring UN resolutions for 60 years, here you are thinking that it's ok to pardon one corrupt manipulating arshole because you're so gentle and almighty good with great values. You're going NOWHERE buddies. Your pseudo civilization is on the verge of collapsing and it's just too damn late.
Melkiades, First of all you sound like a moron, secondly you cannot even spell Iraq or Israel correctly. How do you expect anyone to take what you say seriously. Ever heard of spell check?
Wow, you kind of got off into a random tangent here a little. Well, actually like a lot.........
Are you on drugs man? You sound so angry like you just came out of a prison.
Good People, all your thoughts are valid. We all have children and we need to teach them honesty, morals and somewhere wisdom to become responsible adults. Like others pointed, we are all human and I can recall the Armstrong's winnings in those hills in France, it was amazing to watch and so he was representing the USA. All sports have their rules and "RULES" are "RULES" but, lets wait and give Armstrong a chance to explain himself and in fact it will be admission to taking enhancing and prohibited drugs then, lets wait and see why he did it. Thanks for your time and attention.
"Fool me once, shame on you...Fool me twice, shame on me" seems to fit here–in spades. Lance Armstrong and "Come clean" are two polar opposites, incapable of co-habitation. I think we've all seen entirely too much of his bilking the public, using us for his purposes and shameless defense of the indefensible. Even now, if he had a shred of remorse, he'd slink away, rather than add insult to injury and tell us he's going to come clean.
Yeah yeah, you and all the other online distributors of righteousness and justice sound the same. No matter what the topic or who's in the spotlight, here you come with your downtalking holier-than-thou wisdom to awe us into submission. Shut up, he's human, you are human, we are all human. Quit acting like you have something more to offer to us or that he has something less to offer to us. You're nothing special and you are not perfect, just like the rest of us.
Lance, do whatever you want. 990% of us don't deserve a response at all.
Perfection, and holier than thou have nothing to do with it.
Armstrong built nothing short of an empire on defrauding the public in multiple arenas, and the motivation to 'come clean' is a contemptuous attempt to regain control of the conversation he's finally had to relent in the face of overwhelming eye-witness testimony.
That he'd now like to 'explain', or more to the point 'further spin' to somehow 'normalize' his monumental deceit has nothing to do with whether or not the rest of us are 'special', or 'human'.
This effort to continue building and enjoying the spoils of an ill-gotten empire do add insult to the injury.
The pending multiple lawsuits will level the type of justice Lance has coming, perfection won"t be required.
The man is right and I doubt you have had fame like a worldwide athlete, seriously. I doubt you had the opportunity to like, cheat and steal in a public worldwide basis. The man is correct, it's wrong. Wrong is just that, wrong...even today.
What? He lied to everybody. He's going to come clean? How big of him now that everyone in the world knows he's a lying cheat already.
Lance is a disgrace.
Presidents lie, senators lie, media lies, congress people lie, what is wrong with Lance lying.
Congratulations, makdjalali, you are the winner of the "Most Inane Comment of the Day" award. And, a lot of people rob banks, so what's wrong with everyone robbing banks?
You "JOHN" are a reason why we are heading downwards in this country! You totally missed the POINT.
Don't worry maybe one day you will get it.
He's saying that it's hypocritical to show Lance so much disdain when all the groups he listed get away with it on a daily basis. Doesn't make any of it right, of course, but he has a point.
