From predictions to post-announcement analysis, has the speculation gotten out of control? We’ll have Current TV’s Stephanie Miller, Republican strategist Dan Schnur, and Los Angeles Times reporter Robin Abcarian along with Ben Smith from BuzzFeed and Terence Smith, formerly of the PBS NewsHour, to talk veepstakes and what comes next.
This year’s Summer Olympic Games have been heralded as the “Games of Girls” with more female athletes than ever before. But some like American hurdler Lolo Jones and gymnast Gabby Douglas have been under the media spotlight more than others. Jones, like some other women in the Olympics, has been painted as sex symbol and was recently the subject of a critical story in the New York Times, to which she blamed the media for not doing their research. Was the story unfair? And have the media portrayed the female athletes as sex symbols? We’ll talk to USA Today sports columnist Christine Brennan.
