Well now...so HLN is airing Donald Trump's advice to Jodi Arias! Why the Hell are they giving that overstuffed yahoo more air time? He lost what little credibility he had long ago. Why should anyone care about Trump's opinion regarding an over-hyped mockery of a murder trial? I turned to HLN briefly in hopes of getting some actual news (it's early morning as I write this), only to be subjected to more of the usual sleazy pandering HLN is now known for. Apparently, all CNN/HLN are good for these days is an occasional brief tune-in to find out what kind of crap is being spoon fed to Americans, who seem to want nothing better and who really do not care about much beyond their insatiable need for infotainment and tittilation. Funny...I used to think that Orwell's depiction of the media in "1984" was rather far-fetched and silly. Now I'm not so sure. Oh well, I guess it's back to Aljazeera English online...untill my next curious three minute peek at CNN/HLN (about all I can stand anymore) and the decline of western journalism.
None of you TV personalities would appear on TV without makeup and yet you have degrading comments for a person with no self esteem to dress her self up for any publicity. I would love to see Nancy Grave or Jane Velez Mitchel be on TV without their scores of make up artists who make them appear as they want to be seen. So, Jodi wanted the same thing, She knew she would be seen worldwide and because she has NO self ESTEEM, her only thought was project the best face I have forward.
That being said, Jodi is a victim. A person with no self esteem at her age was drawn to a man who sexually elevated her to someone of worth. She had no other worth in her her life other than being the woman that this man loved or could use for his own gratification. He projected himself as someone he wasn't. In his world and the world he wanted to project, he was this virginal man who kept the rules of his religion, but the fact is that he didn't.
The sex tapes prove that he wasn't what he projected to the world and Jodi was a willing participant to his fantasies. Whether or not he ever acted on those fantasies is not the point, the fact is he had them and used her to make them a useful outlet for him.
He was a dual dude. He acted one way and lived another. He lied to many woman and used Jodi, to full fill his needs. It's so easy to throw the book at Jodi but it just means you don't know how people can manipulate other people when BDSM comes into play. If you understand the world of BDSM you'll understand why women become submissive to dominate men. Women with no self esteem often fall victim to very powerful men and gravitate their lives towards pleasing that man above all else.
If she had planned to "kill" him, like the defense said, she would have popped him in his sleep the night she arrived. Or she could have killed him in the shower when his back was turned to her. She didn't do that because she never wanted to do that in the first place. She loved him and knew he had been using her for a long time. She wanted only his acceptance and went there on a whim because she had planned to go somewhere else to begin with. When she spoke to him on the phone and once again he said, "come on over" she felt the passion she had always felt for him and gave into that passion. Maybe she thought "one more time" or "I love him and maybe this will seal the deal. But, intent on killing him? No way. She went there, slept with him an entire night and spent the next day having sex with him and recorded it. If you were going to kill someone would you record your sexual escapades? Like Nurmi said, "Doesn't make sense".
Afterwards, she is taking pictures of him in the shower which he willingly posed for. He looked happy and not "scared of this so called stalker" that the prosecuter said she was. She dropped the camera which has been documented as a fact before the murder happened. Her story is valid. She grabbed a gun shot with no intent to hurt him but to stop him from hurting her and when she did in fact hit him, she panicked and frantically fought for her life.
This was not premeditated, this was pure and simply self defense. She was fighting for her life.
Yes, she did stupid things afterwards. She should have called 911. She should have done anything and everything that she didn't do but she was young, naive, submissive and a victim of not only low self esteem but being a victim of domestic violence whether or not you believe such a thing is viable. IT IS! DEAL WITH IT and understand why and who she is. She wanted Travis to live not die. She wanted him to be with her forever. She had no intention of killing him, she wanted him to be there for her forever.
Everyone has acknowledged that Travis was an articulate, dominate man who knew what he wanted in life. He used Jodi to satisfy his needs whether or not they met the dogma of the his church. She was in fact his, "Dirty little Secret", and he hid her from his his most trusted friends and family. His sex tapes in his own voice prove that fact.
So those who judge Jodi for what they think happened, I can only say, "Their but for the grace of God go I"
Think about it before you rush to judgement!
I just watched the Anderson Cooper special regarding this case. Having no predisposition regarding it and not paying any attentionto broadcasts invovling it, I have to say I am extremely disappointed in CNN. I was hoping this special would give me an unbiassed account of the entire story. Instead I witnessed a one sided version of what happened. Every so called expert interviewed clearly convicted Jodi. The report was not what I needed to make an educated decision on what happened and how the State of Arizona proved her guilt. Instead we were shown a clear bias that she is, despite our American natural right of innocent until the State can prove without a doubt of guilt, completely guilty. I came away with an unclear version of what was the motive for her killing Travis. CNN did not inform me the reason why Arizona thinks she did this. All I experienced was a constant barrage of opinions that this lady is guilty. We were briefly informed of her past life of abuse and given a one text message from Travis on his attitude toward her. We were then intoduced to a few questions the jury needed to know before deliberating, of which were clearly questions regarding her guilt. I now wonder what other questions were asked and if those questions were a question of her innocence. This was clearly another example of a Nancy Grace attitude of guilty before all the facts. I have stopped watching HLN because of her righteous better than thou attitude. I am affraid I may do the same with the flagship CNN for the same reason. I am deeply sad to see Anderson (who I respect in so many ways) would let his name be attached to this horrible report.
