I have to reiterate Messenia's message. As I was listening to Ms. Costello describe her situation, I was aghast at her inability to see the irony in her words. Two miles from work? And you can't walk? Does Ms. Costello drive every day? 2 miles is a 30 minute walk. Please, please tell she is not one of those people who drive to work, then drive to the gym to walk the treadmill for 30 minutes.
Ms. Costello's inability to see her complicity in the problem is, well, problematic. Maybe she needs to put on her Keds, walk a few miles while mulling over her words and accusations. Stupidity is an understatement.

Agreed. How can anything be done with the roads if they are jammed packed with cars. I agreed with Mr.Brown, you can't relyong government to tell you when and how to react. Go get your kids at school early. Better yet, keep them home. My grandmother always said to keep a "weather-eye". Take personal responsibility. Keep a blanket and non perishable food in the car. Stay home when the forecast is foreboding. If away from home, stay put and allow road crews to do their jobs. Winter weather requires preparation just like hurricanes. Sounds like educational opportunities present themselves in Atlanta. Never underestimate Old Man Winter.

I saw this segment and the only thing I could think about was how foolish that CNN reporter was. If she really lives just 2 miles from her office, why didn't she *walk* home? IMHO, it was irresponsible and selfish of her to add her car to the traffic to go such a short distance. She admitted that she could hardly get out of the parking lot, yet she insisted on going ahead. At one point, the reporter said she represented "the people of Atlanta". If the rest of the population behaved as stupidly, it's no wonder they ended up with a congested disaster.
