Sneak peek at this Sunday's show – May 25 at 11am ET

From the AT&T-DirecTV deal to the P.R. nightmare at The New York Times, we'll examine all of the week's top media stories on "Reliable Sources" this Sunday.

Last week we led the program with Times publisher Arthur Sulzberger's decision to dismiss executive editor Jill Abramson. This week we'll follow up with the only reporter who has actually interviewed Sulzberger about it - Sarah Ellison of Vanity Fair - and NPR media correspondent David Folkenflik.

We'll also assess how VA health care delays were pressed into the national news spotlight. Dr. Sam Foote, the VA hospital doctor turned whistleblower, will tell me why and how he reached out to The Arizona Republic and CNN, and CNN correspondent Drew Griffin will pick up the story from there.

Later in the hour, Matt Taibbi will sit down with me to share an under-covered story about systemic failures of the American criminal justice system. He's the author of the new book "The Divide: American Injustice in the Age of the Wealth Gap."

CNN contributor Paul Begala and "Crossfire" co-host S.E. Cupp will analyze how smears about Hillary Clinton's health have festered in the media...

I'll take a look at coverage of AT&T's bid for DirecTV through a Red News/Blue News lens...

And I'll close the program with an update on the Al Jazeera journalists who have been imprisoned in Egypt for months.

Tune in at 11 a.m. Eastern time on Sunday!

–Brian

I find your use of your bully pulpit disconcerting.... Your continuing diatribe against Ms. Abramson has overtones of personal retribution.... Why not be honest enough to disclose how you resigned your New York Times position via email while on a speaking engagement in Columbia, Missouri and the ensuing panic that you displayed when you were
summoned to New York for a face to face meeting with Ms. Abramson to explain your actions. The students at Notre Dame where you were scheduled to speak the following weekend were disappointed weren't they?

Your "millennial" handling of your NYT departure demanded a "baby boomer" response from Ms. Abramson...

Hopefully you'll treat your current employer with more respect than you treated Ms. Abramson and the NYTimes...
