I think this week's segment was quite inaccurate and utterly awful. It's almost as if Brian threw something together at the last minute for the sake of having anything to air.
Fox News continued to repeat unconfirmed and inevitably false information (Wilson's broken eye socket), whilst Ed Shultz was raising a legitimate question regarding the lack of information released by the Ferguson P.D. in the investigation.
I think the few who watch Reliable Sources can attest to Brian Stelter's liberal bias. He didn't mention Don Lemon's comments to family members as if a verdict of guilty as been given to the officer in the shooting .I watch/dvr both this program & Fox's MediaBuzz. MediaBuzz is by far the better program. I can't believe how few make comments on this website.
it is interesting how Mr. Selzer failed to discuss CNN's poor journalism is reporting an anonymous caller's version of the policeman's version of events as fact. This hearsay version of events was reported as fact and repeated continuously when this "story" broke. Quite frankly, there was no difference between CNN's reporting of this unverified story and Fox news's broken eye socket report. both are hearsay versions of a supposed event that could not be verified...yet immediately reported as fact.
Now more than ever, the press is a part of every story it covers. And CNN's "Reliable Sources" is one of television's only regular programs to examine how journalists do their jobs and how the media affect the stories they cover.
Brian Stelter is the host of "Reliable Sources" and the senior media correspondent for CNN Worldwide. Before he joined CNN in November 2013, Stelter was a media reporter for The New York Times. He is the author of the New York Times best-seller "Top of the Morning."
