Oh, and by the way, Brian Stelter, how stupid was it of you to side with that blog comment by Bristol Palin, who extrapolated a wild claim about her parents being divorced from some equally stupid tabloid speculations about her mother's missing wedding ring when mommy gave the middle-finger salute to some photographers who caught her without makeup or coiffure one day.
Brian Stelter, you ARE aware, aren't you, that an anonymous source "close to the Palin family" has been the sole solitary voice to suggest the Palins weren't in a dogpile brawl, and weren't the cause of the brawl?
So why are you leading the above story with a thinly veiled insult about the facts as first reported?
Read the police report [it is quite lengthy with reporting my multiple officers]. It does seem that the Palins did in fact start the brawl.
Amanda Coyne, a seasoned and well-respected political reporter in Alaska, broke this story and did state that her sources were (at that time) anonymous. Since then, however, THREE eyewitnesses to the Palin family's drunken brawl have gone on record: Eric Thompson (who was fired for talking to Good Morning America about the event) described Bristol Palin's vicious and unprovoked assault on the party's host, as well as Sarah Palin's screaming "Don't you know who I am!?"; Mr. Thompson's wife, Roberta, who confirmed her spouse's statements; and Connor Cleary, a former boyfriend of Willow Palin, who discussed being attacked by Track Palin. Ten witnesses gave statements to the Anchorage Police Department. APD spokesperson Jennifer Castro publicly confirmed that: the brawl occurred; the Palins were present; and that alcohol was involved. The Anchorage prosecutor's office is currently investigating the matter. An unnamed "source close to the Palins" also confirmed that the brawl, in which the Palins participated, occurred; however, that source claimed that other partygoers started the fights. Please attempt to be more accurate when reporting a story. This one was is so easy to research and was covered so ineptly by CNN.
Reliable Sources ? What a joke ! Who is your reliable source that "disputed " what Amanda wrote ? Oh that's right nobody disputed what she wrote ! Not even the Palins !

This wasn't an "alleged" brawl. The Palin Family put out their own statement admitting that the brawl did happen–they just deny that son Track started it. It's funny that they never mention Bristol punching the party's host in the face though. They just overlook that that even happened. To Recap: there were 2 fights at the party involving the Palins–#1 they dispute that Track started the fight that they admit he was in–#2 they don't even mention the fight that Bristol was in (well, that wasn't really a fight; it was an assault on the party's host). Do some reporting. What a joke calling the show "Reliable Sources."
People deserve the benefit of doubt. A story deserves the benefit of the reporter doing his job. Your job would include verifying Yahoo announced a divorce. My searches revealed news questioning their marriage given Sarah was not wearing a wedding ring. Your reporting ought to have included the facts that the Anchorage Police Department verified the Palin's were at the party and ten people were interviewed by the police who witnessed the physical altercations. Several witnesses asked for anonymity stating they feared retribution. You also failed to notice Sarah Palin put on FB she was traveling the day before unable to wish her husband a happy Birthday. She actually celebrated his birthday on it including attending the party.
But ? But ? They're reliable ( wink wink ) CNN has gone right down the FOX hole : (
Fox news did cover it on Sept. 12. A simple search showed that fact. Can't you do the most basic research?
