I hope that all of you commenting on this article recognize how dumb you really are. None of you are going to change another person's mind. There are no DNA samples. ( Of course there were no rape kits ). There are no semen stained dresses. There are no signed confessions. There are no photographs of Bill Cosby caught in the act. There are no polygraph tests. There are no lawyers that will take the case (s) unless there's something in it for them. There, are you happy ? And that means there will also be no money. Just 23 angry women who don't have a hope in hell of winning because they have no proof other than their testimony which means didly squat even if they are telling the truth. So basically they're all guilty of lying and wasting everyone's time because they cannot substantiate their claims. And the beat goes on, and the world goes around one more day, with thousands of women being assaulted because they didn't take a polaroid. Thank you for reminding us all that its a victimless crime because everyone can get away with it.

Do you seriously believe that over 20 women of different backgrounds, social status, etc. would come forward to make these charges against Cosby if they were not true. Actually there was a request for monetary gain... one of the lawyers requested Bill place $100 million in an account for the victims.. this was requested/reported at the onset of the victims coming forward... But I do agree 23 people can't tell the same lie.. there is truth here.. and in some cases it all dealt with drugging the victims.. Shameful.. he should want to clear his concious and soul..
I walk the fine line here of believing and not believing. These women sound so convincing and Mr. Cosby has not proven them wrong. I wish that he would take a lie detector test, it would ease my mind. On the other hand if a WHITE WOMEN accused A BLACK MAN of looking at her wrong back than he would have be lynched. Famous or NOT, so I believe that the black women have been paid just like the white women have been. I support Mr. Cosby until found guilty. We must remember that rape victims were not treated well 30 to 40 years ago, and were generally put on trial and through the wringer if they came forward. Also, celebrities were able to keep things quiet before the heightened paparazzi media era we live in now. A rich, famous person could hide a lot of unseemly activities and a regular person would not have the resources to fight it.
The fact that we find it hard to believe that so many women would not come forward is a testament to how far we've come. It's hard to believe one guy could get away with so much, but in the old days, they did!! So, it's possible that their stories are true...but very hard to prove this many years down the line.

It's very interesting that 17+ women are not to be believed but one man is. Would it make any difference at all that he had a long term mistress on the side and was a player in the day hanging out at Hugh Hefner's playboy mansion? Hmmmm?
I have watched a few of the interviews with these women and they don't appear believable to me. There is a HUGE incentive for them to lie. Cosby is worth tens if not hundreds of millions of dollars. Also, at least two of these women claim they were raped repeatedly. What woman would go back to the rapist's hotel room alone with him multiple times if they were really raped?
Remove the fact of his worth.. would you then believe?? It's the fact that he's worth this that makes some not believe.. and the reason why they haven't came forward in the past. He can pay his lawyer's fees to fight this but the woman have nothing.. And why would they go back.. because maybe they were thinking that what they thought to have happened didn't because of who he was and the trust and belief they had in him.. but when it happened the second time around their fear became real.. you have 23 woman from different areas and backgrounds coming forward.. and their may be more.. and when your thinking it's just you fighting this it's fearful... but when you see others coming forward and telling their story it gives them hope and courage.. it's not just one telling it.. it's 23 others!!!

Well Dwaine, the fact that these women waited beyond the 7 yr limitation should speak to the accuracy of all these allegations. Absolutely right, they're not going to get a dime!
Also, the fact that attorney Singer is now "counter-suing" one of the accusers speaks to the accuracy of what would have happened to dozens of women had any of them come forward back in the 70s,80s,90s. Absolutely right, it would have been a witch burning; the victims'.
So, finally these allegations have made big news: on social media, because the press didn't have the courage to cross such a popular star with deep pockets. We have to be satisfied that Cosby is going down in flames in his sunset years, and will be remembered as a very funny guy that was also a SERIAL RAPIST.
I have to look at this from a different perspective – These assaults took place 9 – 40 years ago. I find it have to believe that any black man – Bill Cosby or not – who assaulted that many white women would not be in jail today. I find it hard to believe that these women, never went to the hospital for a rape test, blood test or contacted the police that they have been rape by Bill Cosby. Not one woman!! As far as the 15 year old goes – where were her parents and how did she get to go to the playboy mansion with an adult black man. There are too many unanswered questions – and a man's reputation is at stake – the damage is already done – Sorry Bill you deserve better.

I do not think that all these woman are lying. As a matter of fact I do not think there is one of them that is lying. However, They should have said something 40 years ago when it happened. There is no excuse for not one of them to report a Rape. I think they went with him knowing what was up. They did not report it since they agreed to strip for him. I can see why these women did not accuse him at the time. None of them were aware of the others and they thought no one would believe them. Also they were embarrassed and ashamed. Women did go to the police, within the 7-year period. Read the reports. There's a good article in the Washington Post. They did a lot of research. They DID file complaints and did try. They were not listened to. He is a famous man. That is why no one wanted to believe it. Please please stop blaming the victims. There are too many to be discounted. And there are complaints on the record from 30+ years ago.
The videolink to this story points that a woman pursued legal action. I feel some misogyny when I read these responses to this story. This is not a case of a number of women coming together now. It is a case of many women over a period of decades. Anyway, I do believe that everyone deserves a chance to be heard. Not just the famous guy. I understand that many sexual assault/rape occurrences go unreported, and that this is understandable due to the psychological trauma many victims experience associated with the crime. However, why is it okay to give the benefit of the doubt to these alleged victims – but not okay to give any measure of deference to Cosby?
First, people want to declare him guilty based on the idea that he's settled with other women in the past regarding similar allegations. Guilty or not guilty paying these women off was unfortunately the best way to handle it. We see case after case where even allegations of this sort can destroy a man's career. These cases even make it to trial sometimes and after being declared "not guilty" they still have trouble resuming their previous lives.
I've seen first hand what happens to a male teacher accused of child molestation. It was determined he wasn't guilty but he still ended up moving cross country because no local school district wanted to hire him.
And second, how is okay to dismiss the idea that a man that had widely been considered an acting legend might not want to "stoop down" to addressing allegations he feels aren't even worthy of a response?
I think David the answer to that is there are too many women that have exactly the same story over 30 years. Where there's smoke there is fire, and this one has multiplied into a fire storm.
If Cosby wanted to dispel some of these allegations, he'd agree to a DNA test to verify he did not father the woman who claims to be his daughter.
There's also the retired network guy who stepped forward to describe the payments Cosby had him hand out, making sure there were in his name, not Cosby's. This guy even saved the bank draft copies.
Levantase their stories sound scripted and rehearsed that is why the stories all sound the same.

This is one more glaring example of the "denial" that we use when confronted with crimes of this type. I find it to be very deep seated. Not sure if its an "American" thing, more than in other countries, but I would be willing to bet that it is fairly universal. I have experienced this same denial in my own family around facing the truth about past child molestation. As Bob Huber stated – "Its unconscionable". I agree. We need to stop with the denial – out with the truth.

My very first reaction to your "why wouldn't someone come running out with their allegations immediately" was, "and face people like you?" My second thought was that you've already made up your mind NOT to believe them. And many of these women did try to tell someone about what they had endured. They simply, repeatedly, were not listened to.

If you followed the tragic tale of "Jimmy Saville" you will glean some understanding as to why these women did not come forward earlier. One cannot understand the sordidness of this kind of crime and the affect it has on an individual unless one has experienced it. I'm sure it does seem 'suspect' to those who do not grasp the 'darkness and shame' that permeates these experiences. It is something the one does not want to 'think' about or 'remember' but when someome has the courage to 'step up' it seems to pave the path for others to finally stand up and be heard. It's not about a 'moment of fame'. It's about the truth finally being spoken.

I certainly hope people jumping on this bandwagon are paying attention to the rapidly unraveling UVA scandal. Everyone is so afraid of the implications of defending a rapist, they are not even bothering to ask for actual evidence that he is a rapist. It is becoming evident that Bill Cosby is the real victim here.

If you were a victim you would understand the shame and guilt these individuals have carried around for all these years. I am glad they have come out and stated what happened to them. Sexual abuse does not just involve penetration. The problem is that it is always being swept under the rug and if you are famous you are able to get away with a lot more.

I guess Amy that innocent until proven guilty doesn't mean anything to you. Skepticism is fine. Even simply avoiding rush to judgment is fine. the thing about this story that is troubling is the number of women who've come forward and none of them appear to have anything in common with each except the common thread of Mr. Cosby allegdely raping them. i understand both sides of it. i guess i'm wary of taking people at their word without careful examination, let be real it really doesn't take much for a lie to take root and become truth anyone remember the (McMartin Preschool trial) after the smoke settled and the dust cleared no one was arrested but a whole family and their business was ruined/destroyed from one woman who claims her son was abused. SORRY NOT JUMPING ON THE BASH BILL COSBY BANDWAGON...NOT GONNA DO IT.
Gotta love the 21st century. People can just come out of nowhere and accuse anyone of anything, and the internet explodes, with people just blindly going along with accusations with no regards to evidence. People are convicted with no chance for actual facts (for either guilt or innocence) to come to light. Screw due process, we have the court of public opinion. The witch hunt is alive and well.
In order to forgive, there must be an acknowledgement of wrong doing, first. It's his denial to address these 15 (and counting) women that's at issue. Because, if the allegations are true, the denials are unconscionable. This is why his shows are being cancelled. This is why his ties with universities are being severed. What you have done, Aaron, is admitted guilt on his behalf...

If the allegations are NOT true, the unqualified attacks on the man and his character are unconscionable. The fine American tradition of presumption of innocence and demanding a preponderance of evidence is turned on its head in sex cases, with the result that the accused person is the real victim. Look at the UVA fiasco that collapsed this week. Bill Cosby may well have the last laugh, but no one will be laughing.
Cosby has indeed denied these charges...THROUGH HIS ATTORNEY, just because he hasnt done a primetime media frenzied interview doesent mean he's guilty!
